Vimy by Pierre Berton is a book about the battle that put Canada on the map during WWI: the Battle for Vimy Ridge.
Six War Years 1939 – 1945: Memories of Canadians at Home and Abroad by Barry Broadfoot paints pictures of Canadians on the homefront and abroad during wartime. It documents personal stories about what many Canadians called the most exciting years of their lives.
Devil Dogs: King Company, Third Battalion, 5th Marines: From Guadalcanal to the Shores of Japan by Saul David follows King Company (featured in The Pacific) through the war in the Pacific. Although there is a lot of information to process, Scott praises David’s storytelling. This is a must-read for fans of The Pacific who want to understand the show in a broader context.
